The Raleigh Trolley
Since 1886 trolley cars have been part of the Raleigh street scene. Today you can travel back in time with the Raleigh Trolley and visit first-hand the historic sites of downtown Raleigh. As passenger’s travel through the Raleigh historic district they will relive 200-year’s of history during this riveting one hour tour. Hear fascinating stories of the times and characters of the past from educated and engaging tour guides.
The tour begins at Mordeciai Historic Park, where you can tour the original Mordecai Mansion then travel to the Capital Area Visitor Center, the State Capitol Bicentennial Plaza, the Joel lane House and State Capitol Hillsborough and Sallsbury Sts.
Trolley Passengers can de-board at any stop and re-board later, so feel free to take the tour of the State Capitol and other historic sites along the trolley route. The tour begins and ends at the Mordecai Historic Park where there is a wonderful gift shop perfect for browsing souvenirs to remember your tour. The price is $8.00 for adults and $4.00 for children over 6.
