The Wakefield Plantation opened as an exclusive private golfing club in the summer 2000. The course is an 18-hole, par 71 golf course designed by Hale Irwin, three time US Open Champion.  Situated on 217 beautiful pristine acres adjacent to Falls Lake.  The unique, challenging course boasts mature pine trees, ponds, streams and rolling hills.

The Wakefield Plantation has been the home of the Rex Hospital Open. This year the Rex Hospital Open took place on jue1-8.

The club also offers incredible amenities to its members  to enhance their golf experience such as a practice facility with target greens, an extensive  practice area for putting, chipping and bunker play.  there is also a full-service locker rooms, an elegant 38,000 square foot clubhouse, tennis courts, swimming pools, and a state-of-the-art fitness facility.
