Falls Lake Recreation Area in Wake Forest, North Carolina
Home to beautiful Falls Lake Reservoir, this wonderful recreation area is located just north of Raleigh-Durham. This is a haven for wildlife and outdoor enthusiasts. It is part of the North Carolina State Park system and contains 7 very distinct areas within it.
Beaver Dam: Offers picnic sites, a fishing pier, a lovely beach, a boat ramp,and a marina. Gasoline fueled boats are not allowed.
Highway 50: Offers LOTS of fishing, a boat ramp and a full-service marina and picnic sites.
Holly Point: Offers 156 camp sites, 2 swim beaches, a boat ramp, a a hiking trail.
Rolling View: Offers short foot paths, a sandy beach for swimming, a bathhouse,boat ramp, picnic areas, restrooms and campsites.
Sandling Beach: Offers two hiking trails, picnic areas, grills, a marina and a sandy beach for swimming
Shinleaf: Offers two miles of the Mountains-to-Sea trail, it also offers 89 campsites and a marina.
